Jakarta - Kampung Legendaris 2026 is maintaining the hygiene of the food served through regular inspections of the kitchens and culinary processing areas participating in the event. Mal Ciputra Jakarta General Manager Ferry Irianto stated that the mall provides a dedicated area for culinary vendors to process and package their food, ensuring both hygiene and product authenticity. “We provide a special area for them to package and cook their products so they remain hygienic and authentic,” Ferry said during the opening of Kampung Legendaris 2026 at Mal Ciputra Jakarta. According to him, food processing cannot be done carelessly, as the condition of the processing area can affect visitor trust in the products offered. “We do not arbitrarily permit product processing, because if it appears unhygienic, there will certainly be complaints from visitors,” he said. Ferry added that Mal Ciputra also requires culinary vendors to maintain cleanliness throughout the food processing stage. Furthermore, the mall’s internal team conducts inspections of the kitchens and food preparation areas to ensure vendors comply with the regulations set during the event. “Yes, our internal team inspects the kitchens and the places where they process their products,” he stated. Kampung Legendaris 2026 features more than 40 legendary and authentic culinary offerings from various regions of Indonesia at Mal Ciputra Jakarta from 12 to 23 August 2026. This hygiene management is relevant to the government’s efforts to develop gastronomic tourism. The Ministry of Tourism is promoting gastronomy as part of tourism appeal through the Wonderful Indonesia Gourmet programme. In gastronomic development, the tourist experience is not only about the taste and authenticity of the food but also the quality of the food management presented. Ferry said the organisers also consider pricing so that the culinary offerings are accessible to the public, especially the younger generation, while still accounting for the costs incurred by vendors to bring raw ingredients from their regions of origin. “We strive as much as possible to ensure these prices are acceptable to the public, especially the younger generation, yet remain in line with the traders’ business calculations,” he said.
