Legend wins Olympics deal
BEIJING: China's largest computer firm, Legend Group, said on
Friday its Lenovo PC brand had won the country's first ever bid
to become an official sponsor of the Olympic Games.
The deal will make Lenovo the exclusive computing technology
equipment and service provider for the 2006 Turin winter and 2008
Beijing summer Olympic Games, the company said in a statement
ahead of a news conference in Beijing.
It also makes it the first domestic firm to become a major
Olympics sponsor, joining Coca-Cola, Kodak, McDonald's, Visa,
Panasonic, Samsung, Swatch, John Hancock and General Electric.
