Legal system protects criminals

Legal system protects criminals

From Koran Tempo

I am not a lawyer, but I have observed that the legal system
and practices in Indonesia often protect criminals instead of
eradicating crime. Therefore, I think the law in Indonesia does
not protect the public against criminal acts.

With crimes such as butchery, cannibalism or ethnic
extermination in Sampit, Central Kalimantan, those committing
such brutal and inhumane crimes are free from legal action.

Lawyers in Indonesia no longer have any credibility. Some
lawyers behave as if they are sensitive to the suffering of
others and most obedient to the five-point principle of
Pancasila, but in fact they never pay attention to the severe
suffering of victims of inhumane crimes. If necessary, Indonesia
should import lawyers from other countries in line with our
fondness for foreign products.
