Legal roundup: Molotov attack case to gold smuggling

A number of legal events were reported by ANTARA News Agency journalists on Sunday (16/8), ranging from the East Java Regional Police investigating the motive of a man linked to molotov cocktail attacks on the Margorejo and Cito traffic police posts to the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri) uncovering illegal gold smuggling by Indian foreign nationals.

East Java Regional Police are investigating the motive of a man detained in connection with the throwing of objects suspected to be molotov cocktails at the Margorejo and Cito traffic police posts on Saturday (15/8) evening. Investigators are still examining the motive, the sequence of events, the evidence found, and the possibility of involvement of other parties, said East Java Police Head of Public Relations Senior Commissioner Jules Abraham Abast in Surabaya on Sunday.

The Surabaya Metropolitan Police have detained a man suspected of being linked to the throwing of objects believed to be molotov cocktails at the Margorejo and Cito traffic police posts on Saturday (15/8) evening. The detention was confirmed by East Java Police Head of Public Relations Senior Commissioner Jules Abraham Abast.

Two people were detained, said Director of Special Crimes Brigadier General Mohammad Irhamni.
