Legal Counsel: Video Narrating Rismon Sianipar's Accusation Against Jusuf Kalla is AI Manipulation

JAKARTA - Rismon Sianipar’s legal counsel, Jahmada Girsang, has stated that the video narrating Rismon accusing the 10th and 12th Vice President Jusuf Kalla of funding the Jokowi diploma case is a product of artificial intelligence (AI). “It’s all AI manipulation. Rismon never mentioned Mr JK’s name,” said Jahmada Girsang when contacted on Monday (6/4/2026). Therefore, Jahmada emphasised that Rismon has never accused Jusuf Kalla of being the mastermind behind this case. Jusuf Kalla previously denied rumours claiming he funded the alleged fake diploma case of the 7th President, Joko Widodo. The rumour spread on social media through a video narrating accusations from digital forensic researcher Rismon Sianipar. In response, Jusuf Kalla firmly stated he has never been involved. He also denied ever assisting Roy Suryo or Rismon in any manner. “I have never been involved in that matter and have never helped or done anything in any way with Roy Suryo and Rismon. Moreover, I have never met them. If I ever met them, where and when?” said Jusuf Kalla at his residence in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, on Sunday (5/4/2026). In the circulating video, Rismon’s face appears only briefly at the beginning. After that, the video shows clips of Jusuf Kalla with a voice claiming to be Rismon’s. “I, Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar, hereby state that there is an elite official behind the accusations in the Jokowi diploma case where Jusuf Kalla participated in funding Roy Suryo and Tifa with approximately Rp 5 billion. And I witnessed that meeting,” the video states. Jusuf Kalla emphasised that he does not know and has never met Rismon. He admitted to knowing Roy Suryo because he is a former minister, but assured that he has never helped in that case. Furthermore, he stated that he has never funded or manipulated anyone to spread hatred or sway public opinion. “I never play behind the scenes, let alone instruct people to badmouth others. This is all lies. Because it has entered the legal realm, I am forced to use a lawyer. I also never manipulate people to discuss others’ cases. That’s why I decided to report this,” he asserted.
