Legal Counsel: JK Reports Rismon to Uncover Masterminds Behind Video Creation
Legal counsel for Indonesia’s 10th and 12th Vice President, Jusuf Kalla (JK), Abdul Haji Talaohu, has revealed the purpose of his client’s police report against Rismon Sianipar and several YouTube and Facebook accounts related to allegations of defamation.
Abdul stated that the step of filing the report was taken to uncover the masterminds behind the video that defames JK.
“So, what we have reported is, of course, the primary suspect, Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar, because in the facts of the video, although he denies it is AI, there is his face, his voice, and he does not deny the content. Yes, that’s Rismon and the YouTube account that posted it. And it’s also on Facebook,” Abdul said at the Head to Head event of CNN Indonesia on Wednesday (15/4).
“Because the focus first is to dismantle, to reveal who is orchestrating, who is the intellectual designing this video. Who owns the YouTube channel, what is the intent and purpose,” he added.
Furthermore, Abdul believes there are individuals who want to pit JK against Indonesia’s 12th President, Joko Widodo (Jokowi). He emphasised that the relationship between Jokowi and JK is actually fine.
“Because between Mr JK and Mr Jokowi, they have no issues. We see that there are people who want to pit them against each other. Yes, that will be revealed through the legal process, to prove who this is for what interest,” Abdul said.
Previously, JK filed a report regarding alleged hoax dissemination and defamation to Bareskrim Polri on Wednesday (8/4). The report was registered with Bareskrim under number LP/B/135/IV/2026/SPKT/Bareskrim Polri.
JK filed the report after Rismon, in a social media video, claimed there were funds given by JK to litigate Jokowi’s diploma. Rismon has denied that the video is an Artificial Intelligence (AI) fabrication.
JK also filed reports against the YouTube account named Studio Musik Rock Ciamis and the Facebook account named 1922 Pusat Madiun.
“That is an insult and damages my dignity, that I am funding someone to examine or betray or investigate Mr Jokowi, and I, once again, did not do that. Because it has spread or whatever, I am taking it to the police because of my good name,” JK said after filing the report.
