Legal certainty needed
Legal certainty needed
From Koran Tempo
Legal certainty is yet to be established in Indonesia, because
money can still bend the law to serve certain interests.
I'm very disappointed to hear that press freedom will again be
curbed in Indonesia. The press is a source of information for the
people to learn about their country's state of affairs. If the
press is controlled and curbed, the public will be made ignorant
about the condition of the country.
The Press Law must be enforced, and the Supreme Court must
reasonably weigh cases related to the freedom of the press.
There are still many cases in which the law has been violated.
It is really a shame if our people continue to be fooled by
erroneous legal practices.
For their part, journalists must always report the condition
of this country as it is.
