National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has officially opened the national one-way traffic engineering for the Lebaran 2026 return flow. This measure aims to reduce vehicle density that is beginning to increase during the peak of the first wave return flow.

The opening ceremony, marked by a flag-off, took place at the Kalikangkung Toll Gate (GT) in Semarang, Central Java, on Tuesday (24/3/2026) at 14.25 WIB. The one-way engineering is implemented from Km 414 GT Kalikangkung to Km 70 GT Cikampek Utama.

The event was attended by Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno, Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi, Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Head of BPJT Willan Oktavian, President Director of Jasa Marga Rivan Achmad Purwantono, and President Director of Jasa Raharja Muhammad Awaluddin. Also present were Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi and Central Java Police Chief Inspector General Ribut Hari Wibowo.

Accompanying the National Police Chief were senior Polri headquarters officers, including Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations Komjen Fadil Imran, Head of Polri Public Relations Division Irjen Johnny Eddizon Isir, and Head of Traffic Corps Irjen Agus Suryonugroho as the Head of the 2026 Ketupat Operation Command Post.

Before raising the starting flag to signal the beginning of the one-way system, General Sigit took the time to approach the queue of return flow vehicles. The National Police Chief chatted casually while distributing gift packages to drivers and their families.

A total of 300 snack packages and 100 children’s toy packages were distributed directly by the National Police Chief. The packages contained biscuits, milk, mineral water, and health supplies such as vitamins and eucalyptus oil. For children, the National Police Chief provided bags containing toys to accompany the mudik journey.

General Sigit reminded return travellers to prioritise safety during their journey. He emphasised the importance of resting if physical condition declines. Utilise the security posts and service posts provided by Polri together with all stakeholders.

The National Police Chief also assured that all Polri personnel along toll roads and arteries remain on standby to provide services and ensure the return flow runs safely in line with the 2026 mudik tagline, ‘Safe Mudik, Happy Family’.
