Led by Dasco, DPR and Government Coordinate Economy to Reassure Investors and Public
The leadership of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) and several ministers held a 1.5-hour meeting to discuss economic growth and government policies. The meeting was convened to reassure investors and the public regarding government policies, particularly within the oil, gas, and mineral sectors.
Deputy Speaker of the DPR RI, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, stated that the meeting focused on coordinating efforts to accelerate economic growth. Discussions also covered the export governance to be implemented by DSI, under the auspices of Danantara, as well as human resource management under the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM). Furthermore, the participants discussed creating regulations to expedite investment permits.
Dony Oskaria, Head of the State-Owned Enterprises Regulatory Agency (BP BUMN) and COO of Danantara, explained the role of DSI as the sole intermediary for natural resources in Indonesia. He emphasised that his office would ensure that Indonesian natural resource exports are protected from under-inasting and transfer pricing. He also clarified that existing contracts with all entrepreneurs will continue to be honoured, urging investors and the public not to be concerned by the new policies.
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia, provided similar assurances to entrepreneurs, investors, and the public. He emphasised that the ‘Gross Split’ or profit-sharing system between the private sector and the government would only apply to the oil and gas sector, not to minerals and coal (minerba). He asserted that there would be no changes to existing regulations in the mining sector, though he noted that priority would be given to MSMEs and other sectors to support downstreaming efforts.
Meanwhile, State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi reassured investors and the public that the government is actively addressing current economic conditions through fiscal and monetary measures. He noted that recent efforts have focused on strengthening cooperation between Bank Indonesia, as the monetary authority, and the Ministry of Finance, as the fiscal authority. He also highlighted that as of 1 June 2026, Government Regulation (PP) Number 24 of 2026 has come into effect, regulating the governance of Indonesian natural resource exports, with PT DSI (Danantara Sumber Daya Indonesia) tasked with monitoring these exports effectively.
