Lebaran Transport Post at Ketapang Port Ends
The Lebaran Transport Post 2026 at Ketapang Port, Banyuwangi, has officially ended. General Manager of ASDP Indonesia Ferry’s Ketapang Branch, Arief Eko, stated that 404,000 foot passengers in vehicles, or 78%, have returned to Bali from Java. Meanwhile, approximately 127,000 vehicles, or 77% of total movements during the homecoming flow, have crossed.
“There are still 22%, or 113,000 passengers in vehicles, who have not returned to Bali. For vehicles, 23%, or 37,365 vehicles, have not crossed,” said Arief in a written statement on Wednesday, 1 April 2026.
Arief noted that the peak return flow occurred on Sunday, 29 March 2026, or H+7 after Eid. During that peak, 56,300 passengers and around 19,000 vehicles crossed from Ketapang to Gilimanuk. Of those vehicles, motorcycles dominated with more than 12,458 units.
Overall, during the period from H-10 to H+8 of Eid, the number of vehicles entering Ketapang Port reached about 171,000 units out of a total reservation of 183,810 vehicles. “There are still around 11,889 vehicles from the reservation data that have not entered the port,” said Arief.
Although the post has been closed since Monday, 30 March 2026, vehicle traffic remains monitored as dense. Vehicle queues even reached 14 kilometres and gradually decreased to about 12 kilometres by Tuesday afternoon, 31 March 2026.
This density, Arief continued, is influenced by the resumption of normal activities, including logistics vehicles now fully permitted to operate. “After the Lebaran transport period ends, all types of vehicles can operate normally, including logistics. This is what causes the traffic to remain dense,” he explained.
To ease the queues, ASDP has increased the number of operating vessels from the previous 33 to 36 units today. Additionally, they are optimising the existing buffer zones to accommodate logistics vehicles. “We are also dividing loading patterns, both through the Bulusan dock and the LCM dock, to ensure more even vehicle distribution,” he added.
Arief said that the Arrive-Unload-Depart (TBB) operation pattern is now only applied at Dock IV, while other docks have returned to regular patterns. He also urged the public to plan their trips well and purchase tickets through the Ferizy application to avoid long queues.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused. We continue to work together with all stakeholders to ease the queues and coordinate to ensure that service users are transported safely,” he stated.
