Traffic heading towards Jakarta on the Cikopo-Palimanan (Cipali) toll road in Cirebon, West Java, increased by up to 161.5% on Monday (23/3) morning, following the Lebaran 2026 celebrations. According to the Sustainability Management & Corporate Communications Department Head of Astra Tol Cipali, Ardam Rafif Trisilo, this rise in vehicle numbers signals the beginning of the Lebaran return flow. “The increase in traffic volume towards Jakarta indicates that the return flow has started,” said Ardam in his statement in Cirebon on Monday, as reported by Antara. Data from Ardam shows that from 00:00 to 09:00 WIB, around 13,000 vehicles passed through the Cikopo toll gate towards Jakarta. This number rose sharply compared to the vehicle volume at the same time the previous day. “That figure increased by 161.5% compared to the vehicle volume at the same time the previous day,” Ardam stated. Conversely, traffic from Cikopo towards Cirebon decreased by around 36.3%, with approximately 12,000 vehicles during the same period. “Traffic towards Cirebon is observed to be levelling off compared to the previous day,” Ardam explained. Overall, traffic volume on the Cipali toll road increased by about 4.2% compared to the same period on Sunday (22/3). However, Ardam assured that traffic conditions in both directions on the Cipali toll road remain busy but smooth. In terms of services, Cipali toll road operators advised toll users to rest at rest areas if feeling tired or drowsy. If rest areas are full, drivers can exit through the nearest toll gate without any tariff changes due to the closed toll transaction system. Ardam said several rest areas are available along the toll road, including KM 86, KM 102, KM 130A, and KM 166 towards Cirebon. For the direction towards Jakarta, rest areas are available at KM 164, KM 130B, KM 101, and the functional rest area at KM 77.
