JAKARTA - Mobility during the 2026 Lebaran return flow from the eastern region of the Trans-Java Toll Road towards Jakarta has experienced a significant increase.

PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) recorded 315,220 vehicles passing towards Jakarta through the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate (GT) during the H to H+4 Lebaran period.

This figure represents a 124.18% increase compared to normal traffic of 140,611 vehicles. The rise was also driven by the implementation of a 30% toll discount.

Corporate Secretary & Legal PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paallo, stated that to anticipate the increased vehicle volume during the return flow, JTT provided alternative travel options for road users by reapplying a 30% toll discount for continuous journeys from the Kalikangkung GT on the Batang-Semarang Toll Road section to the Cikampek Utama GT on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road section from 26 March 2026 at 00:00 WIB until 27 March 2026 at 24:00 WIB.

“In addition, a 23% toll discount for all transactions on the Batang-Semarang Toll Road section remains in effect from 12 March to 31 March 2026. This policy is expected to help distribute traffic more evenly while providing direct benefits to road users,” Ria explained, quoted from an official statement on Friday (27/03/2026).

Ria added that based on traffic data from H-10 to H+4 (11-25 March 2026), 491,285 vehicles were recorded from the eastern Trans-Java Toll region, an 18.08% increase from normal traffic of 416,056 vehicles.

Meanwhile, based on data from the first shift on 26 March 2026, 21,910 vehicles were recorded, a 168.01% increase from the normal 8,175 vehicles.

The high traffic volume indicates that the return flow movement is still ongoing and is expected to continue increasing.

“In line with this condition, JTT along with the Police temporarily implemented a local one-way system from KM 425+800 to KM 422 on the Semarang Toll Road Sections A, B, C to maintain smooth vehicle flow and minimise potential congestion along the Trans-Java Toll Road sections,” Ria said.

Meanwhile, vehicles heading to the eastern Trans-Java Toll region through the Cikampek Utama GT recorded 206,785 vehicles, or a 49.77% increase compared to normal traffic of 138,072 vehicles.

Increased vehicle volumes also occurred on several toll road sections managed by the JTT Group in Central Java and East Java.

In Central Java, the Kalikangkung GT recorded 217,055 vehicles leaving Semarang, a 186.61% increase from the normal 75,733 vehicles. Meanwhile, vehicles heading to Semarang reached 109,523, a 44.23% increase from the normal 75,934 vehicles.
