The implementation of the second phase of the one-way traffic engineering on the Trans-Java Toll Road is being carried out gradually and situationally, following the conditions of the return traffic. It is known that the one-way scheme has already been applied from Km 70 to Km 263 on the Trans-Java Toll Road. Head of the Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas) Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho stated that this scheme is being applied to maintain the smooth flow of vehicles heading to Jakarta. This policy is taken to anticipate the surge in vehicles from the Trans-Java region, particularly from Greater Semarang, Solo, Yogyakarta, to East Java. Furthermore, Agus conveyed that if the vehicle volume at Km 414 at the Kalikangkung Toll Gate approaches the indicator of 4,000 vehicles, a national one-way scheme will be implemented on Saturday (28/3/2026). “If the indicator at Kalikangkung approaches 4,000 vehicles, then a national one-way scheme will be implemented on Saturday,” said Agus. The National Police Traffic Corps is also monitoring vehicle movements from other regions, including return traffic from West Java as well as vehicles from Trans-Sumatra that cross via Bakauheni-Merak to Cikupa.
