Lebaran Return Flow Still High, 8,477 Passengers Arrive at Bekasi Station on Thursday Morning
Bekasi – The Lebaran return flow at Bekasi Station continues until Thursday morning (26 March 2026). Based on data up to 09:00 WIB, a total of 8,477 long-distance train passengers arrived at the station.
“On 26 March 2026, the number of passengers arriving at Bekasi Station reached 8,477 people. This is part of the surge in return flow that has occurred over the past few days,” stated Franoto Wibowo, the Public Relations Officer for KAI’s Daop 1 Jakarta, in his statement on Thursday.
Overall, the number of returnees boarding trains in the operational area (Daop) 1 Jakarta today has reached 52,471 people.
This situation indicates that the return flow is beginning to dominate, with the majority of passengers coming from several cities on Java Island, such as Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Semarang, Purwokerto, and Bandung.
KAI itself has set the Lebaran transportation period to last 22 days, from 11 March to 1 April 2026. Franoto explained that up to 26 March 2026, the total tickets sold have reached 858,748 tickets out of the provided capacity of 1,083,674 seats.
“Seat availability for the return flow period, from 26 March to 1 April 2026, is still around 198,535 seats,” he said.
To accommodate the high public interest, KAI has introduced the “Promo Silaturahmi” discount programme of 20 per cent for executive class train journeys from 25 March to 1 April 2026.
Meanwhile, the favourite routes for passengers during the Lebaran transportation period are still dominated by trips to major cities in Central Java and East Java, such as Yogyakarta, Surabaya, and Semarang.
KAI has also ensured improved services during the Lebaran period, from adding cleaning staff and mobile customer service to security involving TNI and Polri elements.
With the high return flow still ongoing, the public is urged to plan their journeys well and take advantage of the remaining available tickets.
