Jakarta (ANTARA) - The DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) recorded an increase of up to 80 percent in passengers returning to Jakarta at terminals during the 2026 Lebaran return flow. “For the time being, from monitoring on Monday (23/3) compared to normal conditions, there has already been around an 80 percent increase in the number of passengers in the return flow,” said Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency Syafrin Liputo during an inspection of return flow preparedness at Terminal Kampung Rambutan, East Jakarta, on Tuesday. Syafrin stated that the number of passengers returning to Jakarta via terminals experienced a sharp rise compared to normal conditions. “From the results of the return flow movement up to Monday (23/3), an increase in the number of passengers has been observed at several terminals in Jakarta, including Terminal Kampung Rambutan,” said Syafrin. This increase was recorded at seven main terminals serving the return flow, namely Terminal Pulo Gebang, Terminal Kampung Rambutan, Terminal Kalideres, Terminal Tanjung Priok, Terminal Lebak Bulus, Terminal Grogol, and Terminal Muara Angke. Among all these terminals, three are currently the busiest points, namely Terminal Kampung Rambutan, Terminal Kalideres, and Terminal Pulo Gebang. These three terminals serve as the main hubs for passenger arrivals from various regions, especially from Java and Sumatra. Syafrin mentioned that the peak of the return flow is predicted to occur today. This prediction aligns with estimates from the Ministry of Transportation. “The peak of the return flow will occur today. We see an increase in passengers from Sumatra and Java directions, and those returning to Jakarta are also expected to reach their peak today,” explained Syafrin. With this surge, the Transportation Agency along with related agencies continues to conduct supervision and regulation in the field to ensure the smooth flow of passengers and travel safety during the Lebaran return flow period. The DKI Dishub also directly inspected the preparedness for the 2026 Lebaran return flow at Terminal Kampung Rambutan, East Jakarta. Syafrin stated that this inspection aims to ensure that all aspects of service at the terminal operate optimally, both for passengers returning to Jakarta and those heading back to their home regions.
