JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas Polri) has stated that a national one-way traffic engineering scheme will be applied during the Lebaran return flow starting from 24 March 2026. This policy is intended to alleviate potential vehicle congestion at the peak of the return flow. Agus stated that the implementation of the national one-way scheme is based on analysis and evaluation results conducted jointly with various stakeholders. He explained that this year’s Lebaran return flow is estimated to occur in two phases. The first phase is expected on 23-24 March 2026. Meanwhile, the second phase is predicted to take place on 28-29 March 2026. In addition to the national scheme, Korlantas has also prepared anticipatory measures from 22 to 23 March 2026, including the possible gradual implementation of local one-way systems at several congestion-prone points. Agus urged the public not to undertake return journeys simultaneously on peak dates. He also advised mudik participants to take advantage of the Work From Anywhere (WFA) policy to arrange their travel schedules. “Mudik participants are advised to utilise the Work From Anywhere (WFA) policy by scheduling their return journeys on 26 to 28 March 2026,” he said.
