Lebaran Return Flow: Jasamarga Records 133,000 Vehicles Heading to Jakarta
PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) recorded 133,091 vehicles passing towards Jakarta through the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate during the H to H+2 Eid al-Fitr period (21-23 March 2026). Vehicle volume increased significantly by 49.15% compared to normal traffic of 89,231 vehicles. “Meanwhile, based on daily traffic data on 23 March 2026, there were 75,837 vehicles from the eastern Trans Java region, an increase of 197.66% from normal traffic of 25,478 vehicles,” said Corporate Secretary & Legal of Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paallo, in Jakarta on Tuesday. Ria explained that the high traffic volume indicates that the return flow movement is still ongoing and is expected to continue increasing. In line with this, JTT together with the police has implemented traffic engineering in the form of a national one-way system from KM 414 GT Kalikangkung on the Batang-Semarang Toll Road to KM 70 GT Cikampek Utama on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, continued with a local one-way from KM 459 on the Semarang-Solo Toll Road to KM 414 GT Kalikangkung, to maintain smooth vehicle flow and minimise potential congestion along the Trans Java Toll Road sections,” Ria explained. To anticipate the increase in vehicle volume during the return flow, JTT also provided alternative travel options through toll fee discounts. A 30% discount is applied for continuous journeys from GT Kalikangkung on the Batang-Semarang Toll Road to GT Cikampek Utama on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road from 26 March 2026 at 00:00 WIB until 27 March 2026 at 24:00 WIB. In addition, a 23% discount for all transactions on the Batang-Semarang Toll Road remains in effect from 12 to 31 March 2026. This policy is expected to help distribute traffic more evenly while providing benefits to road users. Meanwhile, vehicles heading to the eastern Trans Java region through GT Cikampek Utama recorded 164,271 vehicles, an increase of 93.27% compared to normal traffic of 84,997 vehicles. Increases in vehicle volume also occurred on several toll roads managed by the JTT Group in Central Java and East Java. In Central Java, vehicles leaving Semarang through GT Kalikangkung recorded 101,774 vehicles, up 112.03% from normal conditions. Meanwhile, vehicles heading to Semarang reached 99,866 vehicles, an increase of 116.23%.
