Lebaran Return Flow: 99,680 Passengers Arrive at Soekarno-Hatta Airport
TANGERANG - The return flow for Eid al-Fitr has started to become visible at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on Tuesday (24/3/2026). A total of 99,680 passengers arrived at the airport from their hometowns.
Based on data from PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia, this number is higher than the number of departing passengers, which totalled 90,749 people.
“The number of arrivals today is indeed higher than departures, in line with the beginning of the Eid al-Fitr return flow,” said Assistant Deputy for Communication and Legal at PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia’s Soekarno-Hatta Airport Branch Office, Yudistiawan, in his statement on Tuesday.
Passenger movement is still dominated by domestic flights, especially through Terminal 2, which served 54,257 passengers with 369 flights.
Meanwhile, Terminal 1 served 49,604 passengers from 294 flights.
Terminal 3 also recorded 36,922 passengers with 244 flights for domestic flights. International flights reached 31,333 passengers with 160 flights.
Previously reported, the peak of the Eid al-Fitr return flow through Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang City is predicted to occur on Saturday (28/3/2026).
Soekarno-Hatta Airport General Manager, Heru Karyadi, said the prediction is based on the passenger movement patterns during previous Eid periods.
“The estimated movement is around 198,387 passengers and 1,221 flights in one day,” said Heru Karyadi.
To avoid passenger congestion, Heru urged the public planning to return during the peak to arrive at the airport earlier.
“PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia’s Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Branch Office urges all passengers to always check flight schedules and arrive earlier at the airport to anticipate congestion,” he said.
