PT Jasa Marga has recorded 2.9 million vehicles entering Jakarta. In total, 86% of vehicles have now returned to Jakarta in this year’s Lebaran return flow.

The figure was recorded up to Sunday night (29/3). Jasa Marga stated that the volume of vehicles heading to Jakarta in the return flow has now eased.

“At 22:00 on Sunday 29 March, 2.9 million vehicles had entered Jakarta. This means 86% have returned, and up to 10:00 earlier, the number of vehicles entering was 166,000, which will continue to be counted until 06:00 later,” said Jasa Marga President Director Rivan Achmad Purwantono at the Jasa Marga Toll Road Command Center in Bekasi, West Java, on Monday (30/3/2026).

Rivan said that 28-29 March was predicted to be the peak of the 2026 second-wave Lebaran return flow. The first wave of the return flow occurred on 24 March.

He noted that the number of vehicles from the eastern direction of the Trans-Java Toll Road towards Jakarta has eased. However, vehicle counts will continue until 6:00 a.m. today.

“Based on that consideration, the return flow movement has eased from km 414 to kilometre 70,” he said.

On the same occasion, Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi urged the public who are still travelling in the return flow to remain cautious. He advised the public to pay attention to directions from on-site officers.

Traffic engineering in the form of one-way systems, which had previously been implemented, has now been stopped. Traffic on the Trans-Java Toll Road has returned to normal.

“To the public who are still travelling, we hope you can be careful and always follow the directions and instructions from on-site officers. Because journeys are still ongoing, and this has now returned to normal,” said Dudy.
