Lebaran Passenger Traffic at Juanda Airport Rises 5 Percent Compared to Last Year

During the 18-day Integrated Air Transport Post for Lebaran 2026 at Juanda International Airport in Sidoarjo, the number of passengers rose 5 percent compared to the previous year’s Lebaran period. From 13 to 30 March 2026, a total of 766,175 passengers were served.

Improved performance was also evident in aircraft movements, reaching 5,020 flights, a growth of 8 percent from last year. This year’s smooth flow of outbound and return travel was supported by the provision of 173 additional flights from various airlines, including Citilink, Lion Air, AirAsia, Super Air Jet, and Sriwijaya Air.

“The enthusiasm for the homecoming is still very much felt at Juanda Airport. Even though the number of passengers has increased, service standards remain well maintained, and all airport operations ran smoothly without significant issues,” said General Manager of Juanda International Airport Muhammad Tohir on Monday (30/3).

Based on airport statistics, Jakarta remained the primary favourite destination with 142,894 passengers. The second position was held by the route to Bali with 80,002 passengers, and Makassar in third place with 77,140 passengers.

Regarding daily movements, the peak outbound flow was recorded on 14 March 2026, serving 47,547 passengers via 302 flights. Meanwhile, the peak return flow occurred on 29 March 2026 with a higher volume of 52,648 passengers and 300 aircraft movements.

Tohir concluded his report by expressing appreciation to all involved stakeholders, from airport authorities to airlines, for the synergy established during this year’s Lebaran transport period.

During the return flow period, from the second Lebaran on 22 March to H+7 on 29 March, the average number of passengers reached 11,834 per day.
