Lebaran Homecoming Traffic Engineering Deemed Effective

To facilitate smoother vehicle movement during the Lebaran homecoming flow, the Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas Polri) has applied traffic engineering measures, including one-way systems and contraflow on several major road sections. The policy has received positive responses from homecoming travellers. One of them, Sutrisno, a resident of Depok heading to Tegal for the homecoming journey, assessed that the implementation of contraflow and one-way was very helpful for journey smoothness. “In my opinion, it is very helpful, the journey is smooth, and the congestion is somewhat relieved; contraflow and one-way are good,” said the migrant Sutrisno. Besides traffic engineering, the presence of police officers in the field is also deemed very helpful in managing vehicle flow, including at rest areas and congestion-prone points. “If it’s the police, they are very helpful, managing traffic, also at rest areas, and on the roads, yes, very helpful,” added Sutrisno. A similar opinion was expressed by Rico Ferdiansyah, a migrant from Pandeglang, Banten, heading to Yogyakarta. He appreciated the active role of traffic police in alleviating density while providing a sense of security for migrants. “The presence of traffic police members is very helpful in reducing congestion, and on the other hand, if something happens to us, we can immediately go to the officers,” said Rico Ferdiansyah. Rico also admitted to directly experiencing the benefits of the service posts provided during the homecoming flow. He stopped at one of the posts to rest and recover before continuing the journey. “As for the service posts, coincidentally I stopped at a service post earlier to rest for a moment, to use the toilet which is far from the rest area, and the officers were very friendly and willing to help us as migrants,” added Rico. At the end of his statement, Rico also appreciated the government and police apparatus who have been on duty during the homecoming period. “Thank you to President Prabowo and all members of the Indonesian National Police for their service in helping our journeys during the homecoming and return flow,” he concluded.
