Jasa Marga has recorded that 2.3 million vehicles from holidaymakers have returned to Jakarta and its surroundings following the Eid al-Fitr or Lebaran holiday. Jasa Marga states that this figure represents 69% of the vehicles that exited Jakarta during the Lebaran outbound period in 2026.

“From the data held by Jasa Marga up to this morning at 6 a.m., 2.3 million vehicles have entered Jakarta. That means 69%,” said Jasa Marga President Director Rivan A. Purwantono during a press conference at the Command Centre KM 29 of the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, North Cikarang, on Friday (27/3/2026).

He mentioned that one-way traffic engineering will be implemented, taking into account the vehicle volume. He predicted that there will be 183,000 vehicles heading to Jakarta today.

“It is predicted that today there will be 183,000, then rising again to 200 (thousand vehicles) and up to 250 (thousand) estimated on Sunday,” he stated.

He noted that there is an option to open and close several rest areas. This is to prevent slowdowns due to queues heading to the rest areas.

“We also urge the public to prepare, because before (kilometre) 229 there are also 360, 380, or after that at 130 which can be used. And on this occasion later, rest areas 62B and 52B will definitely be made optional for opening and closing,” he added.
