Lebaran Holiday 2026: Sleman Prepares Favourite Destinations – Tourism, Culinary Delights, and Promising Business Opportunities
Sleman is ready to welcome the homecoming rush and Lebaran holiday in 2026 with full preparations in the tourism, MSME, and accommodation sectors, expected to drive significant regional economic growth.
SLEMAN – In anticipation of the homecoming flow and Lebaran holiday in 2026, Sleman Regency is demonstrating full readiness to accommodate the influx of returnees, tourists, and business actors. Synergy between the government, economic players, and the community is key to turning the Lebaran moment into a driver of the local economy.
Chairman of Kadin Sleman, Yudi Prihantana, emphasised that Sleman is wide open to anyone wishing to return home, holiday, or explore business opportunities.
“Sleman is ready to welcome families returning home, tourists, and investors. We have coordinated with the local government and MSME actors to ensure all economic services run optimally,” he said on Wednesday (18/3/2026).
Various sectors have been meticulously prepared, from traditional markets and culinary centres to transportation and flagship tourist destinations. These steps are aimed at ensuring a comfortable, safe, and memorable homecoming experience for visitors.
According to Yudi, the Lebaran momentum is not just about population movement but also a golden opportunity to stimulate the local economy.
“We have mapped out MSME potentials and strategic tourist spots. The hope is that the homecoming flow will have a real impact on improving residents’ economy,” he added.
Call to Maintain Quality and Fair Prices
Kadin Sleman also reminds all business actors to maintain product quality, set reasonable prices, and prioritise friendly service to visitors.
This step is deemed important to preserve Sleman’s image as a comfortable and trustworthy tourist destination, especially amid the increasing visits during the Lebaran holiday.
Sleman Regency is known for its rich array of tourist destinations. From natural attractions like Mount Merapi and the Kaliurang area to world-class cultural sites such as Prambanan Temple.
Not only that, distinctive culinary tourism also serves as a unique draw. A variety of dishes like jadah tempe, kopi klotok, and snake fruit preparations are sought after by tourists. Visitors in the Kaliurang area are also encouraged to stop by souvenir centres like Jogkem to take home local specialties.
“We invite tourists not just to stop by, but to truly explore Sleman’s natural beauty, culture, and cuisine while supporting MSME products,” said Yudi.
Beyond tourism, Sleman also opens up major opportunities for business actors. The continuous growth in the tourism and creative economy sectors makes this region prospective for investment.
“We invite business actors to partner with local MSMEs. Collaboration is the key to building a strong economic ecosystem,” Yudi stressed.
PHRI Sleman Optimistic about Increased Hotel Occupancy
Similar optimism was expressed by Chairman of BPC PHRI Sleman, Andhu Pakerti. He predicts a significant increase in hotel occupancy rates during the 2026 Lebaran holiday.
“Sleman is a favourite destination because it offers a complete package: nature, culture, cuisine, and adequate accommodation facilities,” Andhu stated.
Players in the hotel and restaurant industry have undertaken various preparations, from improving service quality to providing family holiday packages.
“We want tourists to have the best experience so they are interested in returning to Sleman,” added Andhu, who also serves as vice chairman of Kadin Sleman.
Call to Avoid Accommodation Scams
To anticipate potential scams, tourists are urged to book accommodations through official channels, either via trusted booking platforms or direct hotel contacts.
“It is safer to book through official channels or the websites of PHRI Sleman members to avoid scams,” Andhu emphasised.
Collaboration to Drive People’s Economy
All these efforts are the result of collaboration between the government, business actors, and the community. Kadin Sleman hopes the 2026 Lebaran homecoming flow will not only run smoothly but also deliver broad and sustainable economic impacts.
“We want returnees to arrive feeling safe and comfortable, then leave carrying beautiful memories from Sleman,” Yudi explained.
With thorough preparations and abundant potential, Sleman is optimistic about becoming one of the premier destinations during Lebaran 2026, while strengthening regional economic growth through tourism and MSMEs.
