JAKARTA – Lebaran Betawi 2026 will once again be held by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government as part of cultural preservation and a gathering for the community following Eid al-Fitr.

Lebaran Betawi 2026 is scheduled to take place over three days, from 10 to 12 April 2026, and will be centred at Lapangan Banteng.

Assistant for People’s Welfare of the DKI Jakarta Regional Secretariat, Ali Maulana Hakim, stated that this year’s event marks the 18th edition since it was first held.

“Although there will be some reductions due to the current global concerns and budget efficiency, Lebaran Betawi will still be held solemnly without diminishing its substance and the spirit of bonding,” said Ali.

In addition to being a cultural celebration, Lebaran Betawi also serves as a moment for halal bihalal and social consolidation among the Betawi community.

DKI Jakarta Regional Secretary, Uus Kuswanto, emphasised the importance of this event.

“Lebaran Betawi is not just a celebration, but a moment to strengthen unity, togetherness, and to preserve Betawi cultural values as Jakarta’s identity,” said Uus.

In addition to entertainment, the organising committee has also prepared social activities in the form of aid to the community.

General Chairman of Bamus Betawi, Riano P Ahmad, invited the public to join in enlivening the event.

“We invite Abang and Mpok as well as all residents to enliven and cheer up this event,” he said.

Chairman of the Customary Council of the Betawi Clan Assembly, Fauzi Bowo, stressed the importance of maintaining this tradition.
