Lebaran Betawi 2026 to be Held at Lapangan Banteng on 10-12 April

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will hold Lebaran Betawi 2026 at Lapangan Banteng, Pasar Baru, Central Jakarta, on 10-12 April. “Although there are some reductions due to the world being in distress and budget efficiency, Lebaran Betawi will still be held solemnly,” said Assistant for People’s Welfare of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Regional Secretariat, Ali Maulana Hakim, quoted by Antara on Friday (3/4/2026). Ali stated that the 18th Lebaran Betawi is a grand platform for halal bihalal after Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah. The event also serves as a cultural and traditional agenda for the Betawi community following the Eid al-Fitr celebration. Ali invited the public to attend the cultural event, which will also include social activities in the form of aid distributions. “Moreover, the event will be held at Lapangan Banteng, which has historical significance. We hope the public can come and join in,” Ali said. Previously, Lebaran Betawi 2025 was held at Silang Selatan Monumen Nasional, Central Jakarta, for two days on 26-27 April, with the theme “Welcoming 5 Centuries of Jakarta by Strengthening Betawi Local Wisdom”. The contents of the hantaran were diverse, mostly featuring typical Betawi cuisine, including yellow chicken, es selendang mayang, ongol-ongol, dodol kemayoran, gado-gado gondangdia, bebek oblok, and wajik. Various traditional Betawi performances and typical Betawi culinary offerings will also be part of the event.
