Lebaran 2026 Work From Anywhere Schedule in Accordance with Official Government Circular
The Indonesian government has implemented a work from anywhere (WFA) policy for civil servants (ASN) and private sector employees during the Lebaran 2026 holiday period. The WFA arrangement takes place before and after the Lebaran public holiday.
WFA Schedule for Civil Servants in 2026
The WFA policy for civil servants is regulated under the Circular of the Minister of State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) No. 2/2026 concerning the Adjustment of Official Duties for Civil Servants in Government Institutions during National Holidays and Joint Leave for Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah.
According to the circular, WFA for civil servants is scheduled for:
Two days before the national holiday and joint leave for Nyepi (Saka New Year 1948): Monday, 16 March 2026 and Tuesday, 17 March 2026
Three days following the national holiday and joint leave for Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah: Wednesday, 25 March 2026, Thursday, 26 March 2026, and Friday, 27 March 2026
According to the official PANRB website, the WFA arrangement is not intended as an addition to public holidays, but rather as a flexible working arrangement to ensure government continuity and public service delivery during the national holiday and joint leave period.
WFA Schedule for Private Sector Employees in 2026
Similarly, private sector employees are permitted to work from anywhere during the Lebaran 2026 holiday period. This is regulated under the Circular of the Minister of Manpower No. M/2/HK.04/II/2026 concerning the Implementation of Work From Anywhere for Workers in Companies during Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr 2026.
Private sector employees may conduct WFA on:
Monday, 16 March 2026
Tuesday, 17 March 2026
Wednesday, 25 March 2026
Thursday, 26 March 2026
Friday, 27 March 2026
It should be noted that WFA implementation can be exempted for certain sectors, such as healthcare, logistics, transport, security, hospitality, retail shopping centres, manufacturing, food and beverage industries, other essential sectors, or those related to production continuity. Additionally, WFA is not counted as annual leave.
