Jakarta — PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Operations Area (Daop) 1 Jakarta has revealed that 480,000 tickets for the Lebaran Transport period, running from 11 March to 1 April 2026, have been sold.

KAI Daop 1 Jakarta Public Relations Manager Franoto Wibowo said approximately 98,000 seats remain available for departures from the Daop 1 Jakarta area, particularly from Gambir Station and Pasar Senen Station on specific dates ahead of the peak mudik (homecoming exodus) period.

"For departures from Gambir and Pasar Senen stations, seat availability on 11 March stands at 31,587, on 12 March at 19,060, on 13 and 14 March at 9,186 each, and on 15 March at 10,339," Franoto said in Jakarta on Sunday, 22 February 2026.

For departures on 16 March, 5,016 seats are available; on 17 March, 2,127 seats; on 18 March, 901 seats; on 19 March, 1,926 seats; and on 20 March, 2,086 seats. Additionally, 12,772 seats are available on 21 March, whilst for the period from 22 March to 1 April 2026, more than 20,000 seats per day remain available.

According to Franoto, seat availability data is dynamic and subject to change at any time as passengers make bookings or cancellations. To support passenger demand, KAI Daop 1 Jakarta is also operating 16 additional services — comprising 10 extra departures from Gambir Station and 6 from Pasar Senen Station — during the period from 11 March to 1 April 2026.

With these additions, a total of 84 long-distance train services per day will operate from the Daop 1 Jakarta area throughout the Lebaran Transport period.

Franoto added that the government is providing a stimulus in the form of a 30 per cent fare reduction for commercial economy-class trains. This policy is expected to help the public access safe, comfortable, punctual, and affordable transportation during the Lebaran period.
