Lebaran 2026 Return Flow: Transport Minister Urges Three-Axle Trucks to Comply with Restrictions
Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi has warned logistics transport entrepreneurs to comply with the operational restriction rules for goods vehicles ahead of the peak Lebaran 2026 return flow.
Based on predictions, the peak return flow wave will occur in three stages, namely on 24, 25, and 27 March 2026. Dudy emphasised that in accordance with the Joint Ministerial Decree (SKB), goods transport vehicles with three axles or more are temporarily prohibited from operating during the period of 13–29 March 2026.
“We call on logistics transport entrepreneurs to continue complying with the operational restriction provisions. This step is very important to maintain smooth traffic flow and the safety of all road users during the return flow period,” said Dudy in his statement on Tuesday (24/3).
Dudy expressed appreciation to the Indonesian National Police (Polri) ranks for consistently conducting field supervision. Synergy between regulators and law enforcers is considered the key to the success of this year’s public mobility management.
Meanwhile, Jasa Marga President Director Rivan A. Purwantono revealed that three-axle trucks are still found boldly passing through toll roads despite the restriction period being in effect. He urged drivers to be disciplined, especially during traffic engineering implementations.
“We invite the public to maintain order, obey signs, and prioritise safety. It is very important not to use the right shoulder during the one-way system implementation,” emphasised Rivan.
To minimise density, Dudy advised the public returning from their hometowns to plan their departure times wisely.
Residents are asked to avoid peak return flow dates so that vehicle distribution is more spread out and travel is more comfortable.
“The government, together with stakeholders, continues to conduct dynamic monitoring at various transport nodes. We hope the public follows the directions of field officers so that the journey proceeds orderly and safely,” concluded Dudy.
