As the 2026 Lebaran return flow season commences, passenger volumes at Tegal Station in Central Java remain high. On Tuesday (24/3/2026) or H+2 of Idulfitri, Tegal Station served 10,442 passengers, comprising 5,920 boarding and 4,522 alighting passengers.

Manager of Public Relations for KAI Daop 4 Semarang, Luqman Arif, stated that this high customer mobility is part of the ongoing return flow increase since H+1 of Lebaran.

“During the 2026 Lebaran return flow period, particularly from 23 to 24 March 2026, Tegal Station recorded significant passenger movements. Even on 23 March 2026 (H+1), the number of passengers reached a peak of 11,463 served at Tegal Station,” said Luqman.

Meanwhile, several trains that are customer favourites during this return flow period include the KA Tegal Bahari, KA Airlangga, KA Joglosemarkerto, and KA Tawang Jaya. The most popular destinations for passengers include Jakarta, Surabaya, and Purwokerto.

Luqman added that KAI continues to commit to providing the best service for all customers, especially during the Lebaran return flow period which is synonymous with high societal mobility.

“We urge all customers to arrive early at the station, at least 30-60 minutes before the departure schedule. In addition, customers are also expected to always safeguard their own belongings while in the station area or during the journey,” added Luqman.

He stated that KAI Daop 4 Semarang ensures all operational and service aspects have been prepared optimally to provide a safe, comfortable, and on-time travel experience for the public during the 2026 Lebaran Transport return flow period.

In addition to Tegal Station, other stations in the Daop 4 region such as Semarang Tawang, Semarang Poncol, Pekalongan, and Cepu serve as departure points with fairly high passenger volumes.

This surge in passenger volume demonstrates the high enthusiasm of the public in utilising train services during the Lebaran Transport period.
