JAKARTA — The government has assured that the national energy supply remains in a secure condition to meet public needs during the Ramadan to Eid al-Fitr 2026 period. One key indicator is the national electricity reserve, which is projected to reach approximately 48 per cent during this year’s Lebaran.

The government, through the National Taskforce Command Centre for the Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) sector, continues to monitor the adequacy of energy supply to ensure reliability amid increasing public mobility during the festive period.

The Head of the National Taskforce Command Centre for the ESDM sector, Erika Retnowati, stated that the government is ensuring the availability of national energy remains secure.

“The government continuously ensures that energy supply is adequate and reliable for Eid al-Fitr 2026,” said Erika in a statement on Saturday (14 March 2026). “As a result, there is a reserve of 16,000 MW, which represents 48 per cent of the overall supply,” she explained.

In addition, the Java-Madura-Bali (Jamali) electrical system, which forms the backbone of national electricity supply, has been confirmed to be in normal and reliable condition. Based on the Jamali system’s power flow, daytime peak load is recorded at approximately 34,377 MW, whilst nighttime peak load reaches approximately 34,308 MW.

To support the smooth operation of public mobility during the holiday exodus, PT PLN (Persero) has also prepared infrastructure for electric vehicle charging stations along the Trans-Sumatra–Java–Bali route. A total of 1,681 Public Electric Vehicle Charging Station (SPKLU) units have been prepared at 994 locations with support from more than 5,000 personnel on standby 24 hours a day.

PLN has also prepared 15 mobile SPKLU units to anticipate the need for electric vehicle charging at high-mobility points during the exodus and return journey of the Lebaran period.

Beyond electricity, the government has also ensured that fuel reserves remain adequate during the holiday exodus and Eid al-Fitr period.

Erika noted that the national petrol reserve currently stands at approximately 25 days. For certain products such as Pertadex, the reserve reaches 45 days, whilst aviation fuel is recorded at approximately 37 days.

Given these conditions, the government believes the public should not be concerned about energy availability during the exodus and Eid al-Fitr 2026 celebrations.

“The government continues to make every effort to ensure that energy supply, both electricity and fuel, is available safely and reliably so that the public can carry out their holiday exodus smoothly,” she concluded.
