JAKARTA — PT Bank Syariah Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, commonly known as BSI, is preparing 45 trillion rupiah in cash to meet public demand for currency during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 2026.

Anton Sukarna, BSI’s Director of Sales and Distribution, stated that the funds will be distributed to the public through more than 6,000 ATMs and Cash Recycling Machines (CRMs), as well as 1,049 branch office outlets throughout Indonesia. He noted that the peak transaction volume is expected to occur one week before Eid al-Fitr.

BSI is also participating in Bank Indonesia’s “Semarak Rupiah Ramadhan and Berkah Idulfitri” (SERAMBI) 2026 programme, which runs until 15 March 2026. The bank is providing currency exchange services at 178 locations and integrated services at 41 public spaces.

Sukarna highlighted that the Eid period typically drives a significant surge in digital channel transactions. In response, BSI is strengthening all e-channel services, particularly its BYOND superapps, as a primary transaction channel for the public.

The bank is increasing its information technology system capacity, implementing real-time transaction monitoring, and ensuring all e-channels operate optimally to enable customers to transact quickly, securely, and conveniently.

BYOND by BSI offers various features tailored to Islamic banking, including cardless cash withdrawals, ZISWAF transactions (charity in Islamic banking), a zakat calculator, nearest mosque information with qibla direction, and Bank Emas services for purchasing gold and transferring gold balances in real time.

Additionally, BSI is strengthening its BSI QRIS service, EDC merchant facilities, BEWIZE platform, remittance services, and the BSI Call Centre (14040) as part of the bank’s broader digital ecosystem.

Customers can also share with family members or make Eid purchases digitally, reducing reliance on cash transactions. To reach communities in remote areas, BSI is integrating its digital services with its physical network and over 126,000 BSI agents nationwide, who provide cash deposit and withdrawal services, transfers, bill payments, and daily purchases.

With an integrated digital-first strategy combined with its physical network, BSI aims to ensure stable, fast, and secure transaction services during Eid al-Fitr 2026, whilst supporting growing public adoption of digital financial services.
