Lebaran 2025 Homecoming Traffic at Ngurah Rai Airport Grows Only 4 Percent Over 10 Days
Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali recorded serving up to 595,000 passenger movements over the 10 days of the 2026/1447 H Lebaran Transport Post operations. This figure represents a 4% growth compared to the same Lebaran homecoming period last year.
General Manager of Ngurah Rai International Airport Bali, Nugroho Jati, stated that PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports), the airport operator, also noted growth in aircraft movements, with 3,623 flights handled from 13 to 22 March 2026, a 5% increase from the previous year’s Lebaran Transport Post period.
He added that flight operations and services to users during the 2026 Lebaran Transport Post ran optimally. “Amid the traffic growth during this Lebaran transport period, we as the airport operator are committed to always providing optimal services to all users during this busy time. We can report that flight operations, airport services, and assistance to all airport users proceeded smoothly, optimally, and safely,” said Nugroho Jati.
The peak arrival movements occurred on Wednesday (18/3) with 71,442 passenger movements and 412 aircraft movements. “We project the peak return flow to occur on Saturday (28/3) with an estimated 73,000 passengers,” Nugroho Jati continued.
Ngurah Rai International Airport Bali also recorded the busiest routes over the 10-day Lebaran transport period. For domestic routes, the top three were Tangerang (CGK), Surabaya (SUB), and Lombok Praya (LOP). For international routes, they were Singapore (SIN), Kuala Lumpur (KUL), and Perth (PER).
Up to 22 March, Ngurah Rai International Airport Bali had accommodated 104 additional flights or extra flights out of 144 requests. The routes with the most extra flights were Denpasar (DPS) – Tangerang (CGK) return, Denpasar (DPS) – Surabaya (SUB) return, and Denpasar (DPS) – Semarang (SRG) return.
InJourney Airports management also presented various activations and thematic events to welcome and liven up the atmosphere ahead of Lebaran 2026 at Ngurah Rai International Airport Bali. On Saturday (14/3), arriving passengers in Bali received a surprise in the form of hampers delivered with their baggage and suitcases. This unexpected surprise received positive responses and enthusiasm from passengers. Meanwhile, on Friday (20/3), Ngurah Rai International Airport Bali hosted a thematic event featuring Middle East Dance in the domestic and international terminals.
