Lebanese Government and Hezbollah Clash over US-Israeli Attack

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun on Sunday emphasised that his country’s decision regarding war or peace lies entirely in the hands of the government, amid concerns over the potential ramifications of a US-Israeli attack on Iran.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah leader Sheikh Naim Qassem accused the United States and Israel of perpetrating “criminal aggression and tyranny” that resulted in the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

The divergence in positions reflects growing tensions within Lebanon as regional powers weigh their responses to the military escalation involving Iran and its adversaries.
