The Lebak Regency Government held a halalbihalal event with all civil servants (ASN). The event ended in tension between Lebak Regent Hasbi Asyidiki Jayabaya and Deputy Regent (Wabup) Lebak Amir Hamzah. The halalbihalal activity took place at the Regent’s Pendopo in Lebak on Monday (30/3/2026). Initially, Hasbi delivered a speech and instructions to the ASN to carry out their duties and functions in accordance with applicable regulations. Hasbi then discussed the authority of the deputy regent’s position, which he believes Amir Hamzah often exceeds by meeting with department heads. Therefore, he said, based on Article 66 of Law No. 20 of 2023 on ASN, the deputy regent has limitations in coordinating with OPD ranks. “The deputy regent’s duties under Article 66 of the ASN Law do not allow the deputy regent to meddle with department heads by going to their homes. The article states that if authority is delegated or the regent is unavailable, that is the deputy regent’s only task,” Hasbi said in his speech. After that, Hasbi recounted Amir Hamzah’s past when he was once an inmate in the 2013 election dispute bribery case. Amir was found to have bribed former Constitutional Court (MK) Chief Akil Mochtar. “At least (it’s better) that a former inmate becomes deputy regent, be grateful,” Hasbi said in front of Amir. In response to that statement, Amir immediately stood up from his chair and tried to approach Hasbi. The ASN who saw it tried to hold Amir back to prevent a commotion. After that, Amir then immediately left the event location.
