Lebak Regent Hands Over Aid to Vulnerable Workers and Veterans for Independence Day

The Lebak Regency Government marked Indonesia’s Independence Day by sharing with the community. At this year’s celebration, Lebak Regent Moch Hasbi Asyidiki Jayabaya handed over a range of social protection programme assistance to various elements of society.

“One of the main focuses in the distribution of aid this time is the provision of protection guarantees for vulnerable workers. Through the Manpower Office, the Lebak Regency Government fully covers the cost of the Employment Social Security Programme for 3,450 workers from various sectors in the Lebak region,” said Hasbi in a written statement on Tuesday (18/8/2026).

The breakdown of beneficiaries includes 1,583 farmers registered through the Agriculture Office, 1,095 fishermen through the Fisheries Office, 619 livestock breeders through the Livestock Office, and 153 workers in the transport sector through the Transportation Office.

In addition to employment protection, this independence moment also served as an occasion to honour heroes. The Lebak Regency Government provided kadeudeuh (honorarium) funds to 50 veterans amounting to Rp 25,000,000 as a form of appreciation and concern for their services in fighting for independence.

The series of aid handovers on Independence Day also targeted a number of other community groups. Hasbi personally handed over social assistance specifically for persons with disabilities, and distributed agricultural machinery assistance in the form of six hand tractors to boost local agricultural productivity.

On the same occasion, the handover of Death Benefit (JKM) compensation from BPJS Ketenagakerjaan was also carried out. The compensation was given directly to the rightful heirs.

In the previous year, the Lebak Regent also gave a gift in the form of exemption from Rural and Urban Land and Building Tax (PBB-P2) payments for rice fields measuring 5,000 square metres or half a hectare and below.
