Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim departed for Kazan, Russia, on Tuesday (16/6/2026) to attend the Russia-ASEAN Summit. In a statement in Kuala Lumpur, Anwar said that on the sidelines of the summit he would also hold a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin and attend the Russia-ASEAN Business Forum.

The summit marking the 35th anniversary of Russia-ASEAN relations will be held in Kazan from 17 to 19 June 2026. Meanwhile, the Russia-ASEAN Business Forum will be held on Wednesday (17/6) on the sidelines of the summit.

After concluding his agenda in Kazan, Russia, PM Anwar stated he would depart for Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. He will conduct an official visit at the invitation of Turkmenistan President Serdar Berdimuhamedow.
