JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - PT Pos Properti Indonesia (Persero) is beginning to explore the development of the kos-kosan or co-living business following positive performance in the property leasing sector (business leasing) in the early part of 2026.

This subsidiary of PT Pos Indonesia (Persero) recorded maximum achievements in property rental activities over the first two months of this year, amid challenges in the property sector still overshadowed by weak public purchasing power and high funding costs.

Chief Commercial Officer of Pos Properti Indonesia, Aldhita Prayudhiputra, stated that the company remains optimistic in pursuing growth of up to 18 percent throughout 2026.

This means far above the property industry growth projection, which is in the range of 5.2 percent to 5.9 percent.

Based on internal data, demand for commercial space has shown an increasing trend since the end of 2025.

This is reflected in the surge in inquiries (number of requests) compared to the same period last year, in line with the recovery of business sector expansions post-pandemic.

Currently, the property leasing business remains the main contributor, accounting for 50 percent to 60 percent of the company’s total revenue.

That portfolio includes the rental of retail spaces, offices, and commercial facilities in various strategic locations across Indonesia, with consistently high occupancy rates.

Several business sectors such as modern retail, food and beverages, financial services, and public services are the main tenants.

The presence of the widespread postal office network also provides an advantage in the form of stable visitor traffic for the tenants.

Meanwhile, on the other hand, Pos Properti is beginning to diversify its business by developing the kos-kosan segment.

This step is taken by utilising the company’s strategic assets that have not yet been optimal.

Two co-living locations have been opened in the Fatmawati Road and Gandaria areas, Jakarta, with a total of 50 rooms.

Both locations were chosen because they have high accessibility and are close to urban activity centres that are the main target market, namely young professionals.
