Banda Aceh (ANTARA) - The Task Force for Accelerating Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (PRR) states that the learning process in Aceh is already 100 percent, despite the continued existence of emergency classes, tents, and temporary occupations.

Based on data from the PRR Task Force received in Banda Aceh on Wednesday, the number of disaster-affected educational facilities in Aceh, ranging from early childhood education (PAUD), elementary schools (SD), junior high schools (SMP), and senior high schools (SMA) equivalents, totals 3,120 units.

The Head of the Regional Post for the PRR Task Force, Safrizal ZA, said that of the 3,120 affected educational facilities, 3,046 have returned to their original schools, 34 are still in emergency schools, 36 in tents, and four are occupying other buildings.

“But the implementation is already 100 percent, meaning the learning is already underway. Even though there are still 34 emergency classes, 36 tent schools, and four schools occupying other buildings,” said Safrizal.

“In Aceh, 63 schools have been relocated because they are located in vulnerable areas or red zones,” he stated.

Safrizal added that the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikdasmen) has stated that it will soon build permanent schools for those severely damaged, so that learning no longer takes place in emergency classes.

“Kemendikdasmen is determined that in a not too long time, these emergency classes and tent classes will be rebuilt soon, so that students can occupy permanent buildings,” said Safrizal ZA.
