Leapmotor once again records as the top automotive startup for 2026

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Chinese automotive brand Leapmotor has recorded positive global performance as the No.1 new energy vehicle (NEV) startup, while also booking consistent growth in the first quarter of 2026. The company’s official website on Tuesday noted that this positive achievement is inseparable from the support and contributions of its ABCD product series. In March 2026, the brand successfully delivered 50,029 vehicles both domestically and internationally. This record strengthens their performance with a sharp increase of 34.87% compared to the same period in the previous year. Cumulatively for the first quarter of 2026, the brand delivered 110,155 vehicles, representing a 25.82% year-on-year growth. This commitment is embodied in their flagship Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV), the D19, in the middle of this month. Meanwhile, at the Beijing Auto Show 2026, scheduled for 24 April 2026, Leapmotor will also introduce the Ultra version of the Lafa 5 electric hatchback (global name B05), which is a compact rear-wheel-drive electric vehicle developed jointly with the European engineering team from Stellantis. Not only that, Leapmotor will continue to expand its portfolio through various vehicle types such as A10, D19, A05, and D99. These four models are projected to contribute up to around 60% of Leapmotor’s total global annual sales.
