Leapmotor and Zeekr Introduce New EV Options at GIIAS 2026
Two Chinese automakers, Leapmotor and Zeekr, have officially entered the Indonesian automotive market by presenting a variety of electric vehicle (EV) options at the GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026 in Tangerang, Banten Province, running from 30 July to 9 August.
“We want to provide EV options capable of meeting the mobility needs of the Indonesian people, both today and in the future,” said Tan Kim Piauw, CEO of PT Indomobil National Distributor, which serves as the distributor partner for Leapmotor in Indonesia.
As part of its introduction, Leapmotor is showcasing two SUV models, the B10 and C10, with special introductory pricing for the first 500 customers: Rp449 million for the B10 and Rp598 million for the C10. As part of its long-term commitment to the domestic market, Leapmotor, through its partnership with Indomobil, will also undertake local assembly of its vehicles.
The arrival of these two new brands adds to the growing number of Chinese manufacturers expanding into the Indonesian automotive market in recent years, largely driving the growth of the New Energy Vehicle (NEV) segment.
In addition to the debut of new brands, this year’s GIIAS exhibition provides an opportunity for other Chinese brands to introduce more NEV options to the domestic market. Alongside pure electric vehicles, several brands are also presenting vehicles featuring Range Extender Electric Vehicle (REEV) technology, which is not yet widely encountered on Indonesian roads. Another Chinese brand making its debut this year is Zeekr, Geely’s premium EV sub-brand, which introduced the Zeekr 009 premium MPV and the Zeekr 7X SUV.
