Leak of Prabowo's Material from Participants of the Indonesian DPRD Chairmen's Retreat
President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto delivered material at the Indonesian DPRD Chairmen’s Retreat held at the Military Academy (Akmil) in Magelang, Central Java, on Saturday afternoon (18/4). The material was presented in a closed session to the leaders of the people’s representatives from across Indonesia attending the retreat. During the opening remarks—for a brief moment—Prabowo’s speech could be witnessed by media crews and was broadcast live on the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel. However, as it entered the main material, Prabowo’s speech was conducted behind closed doors, and the live broadcast on YouTube ended. After the event, several DPRD Chairmen who were retreat participants ‘leaked’ a summary of the material delivered by Prabowo in the closed session. “He reiterated the emphasis to us on Asta Cita so that it becomes a guideline that has been formulated in the RPJMN (National Medium-Term Development Plan) which can be implemented regarding the RPJMD (Regional Medium-Term Development Plan). So, there is connectivity between national programmes and those at the regional level,” said the Chairman of the Bekasi Regency DPRD, Ade Sukron, to media crews, quoted from detikJateng. “Secondly, he also provided a lot of information related to potentials. We as a nation, if maximised in processing. Insyaallah, our hope for 2045 to become a Golden Indonesia can be realised, such as maximising food potentials, maritime, and also minerals,” he continued. In addition, said Ade, the president also instructed regarding central programmes such as the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) and the Red White Cooperatives. “That is an investment that regions also need to support in how that programme can run well,” said the Golkar politician. In agreement, the General Chairman of the All-Indonesian City DPRD Association (Adeksi), Dance Ishak Palit, said that in his material, Prabowo emphasised the Asta Cita programmes carried by his government’s cabinet. “[The president’s message] In my opinion, Mr President wants to implement his Asta Cita programmes,” said Dance. “And how we in the regions, besides this DPRD, can translate national programmes,” continued Dance, who is also the Chairman of the Salatiga City DPRD. Regarding the emphasis delivered by Prabowo, said Dance, it was mostly for consolidation between regions and the centre. “For me, it’s just exciting. This is all good. First, we get to know each other. So that if we collaborate between DPRDs, it can happen quickly because we are already like brothers,” he said. “If other emphases are more on consolidation between regions and the centre so that cooperation happens,” Dance added.
