The event took place on Sunday, 17th May 2026. Attendees included members of the Lahat Regency Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), including the Regent of Lahat, Bursah Zarnubi, Vice Regent Widia Ningsih, Regional Secretary Izromaita, and Chairman of the DPRD, Fitrizal Homizi.

During the parade, the South Sumatra Police Chief was accompanied by the Head of Intelligence and Security, the Head of Water and Air Police, and the Head of the Professional and Internal Affairs Division. The troops involved in the parade consisted of joint personnel from the TNI-Polri (National Armed Forces - Indonesian National Police), Satpol PP (Public Order Agency), Dishub (Department of Transportation), BPBD (Regional Disaster Management Agency), Fire Department, and Manggala Agni.

The event also involved civilian elements, starting from Masyarakat Peduli Api (MPA) or the Community Caring for Fires, representatives from companies, volunteers from the Sabuk Kamtibmas (Community Security Belt) program, Saka Bhayangkara (Police Scouts), Sekolah Patroli Keamanan (PKS) or School Security Patrols, online motorcycle taxi communities (Ojol), students, and community organisations such as GP Ansor and PSHT.

In his speech, Inspector General Sandi reminded that the threat of Karhutla must be responded to with speed and accuracy. “The handling of Karhutla should no longer use old patterns. We must utilise technology to monitor hotspots in real-time. Early detection must be carried out, and every vulnerability must be immediately mapped,” said Inspector General Sandi in his statement.

Furthermore, he encouraged synergy with the Lahat Regency Government to provide solutions for farmers. One of them is through providing heavy equipment so that people have alternatives and no longer open plantation land by burning. In addition to environmental issues, the Police Chief underlined the strategic role of Sabuk Kamtibmas. This program is designed not only to prevent physical crime but also as a cooling system in the digital space to protect the community from hoaxes and provocations.

He emphasised that all parties must eliminate sectoral egos. Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations of the South Sumatra Police emphasised that this joint parade is proof of the institution’s readiness to adapt to the dynamics of threats in society. “The emphasis from the Chief of Police is very clear, we can no longer work alone. The involvement of personnel from the Polri, TNI, Regional Government, and community organisations, students, and companies today proves that the security ecosystem in South Sumatra has been built strongly. Our approach now is to modernise early detection and provide humane education for the community, but still uphold the rule of law if there are fatal violations,” explained the Head of Public Relations.
