Leadership Offices at Unsoed Rectorate Sealed Following KPK Sting Operation
A number of leadership offices on the third floor of the rectorate building at Jenderal Soedirman University (Unsoed) Purwokerto were sealed by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Friday (21/8/2026) afternoon, according to information from campus staff.
Unsoed spokesperson Edi Santoso said he had not yet visited the site himself, but staff had informed him that the rooms had been sealed. “I haven’t been there yet, but information from staff is that the rooms were indeed sealed,” he told reporters in Purwokerto, Banyumas Regency, Central Java, on Friday.
He said staff reported that the sealing was carried out on the rector’s office and all vice-rector offices. “But I have not yet checked upstairs myself,” he said.
Regarding the whereabouts of Vice-Rector I for Academic Affairs Prof Noor Farid, he confirmed that the official was still within the Unsoed environment despite having undergone questioning by the KPK at the Banyumas Police headquarters on Thursday (20/8) from midday until evening. He even said he had just met and spoken with the official.
“I just met him, he is fine, still able to joke with us, so he is still here. He did not go to Jakarta,” he said.
He said Unsoed Rector Prof Akhmad Sodiq, along with Vice-Rector II for Finance and General Affairs Prof Kuat Puji Prayitno and Vice-Rector IV for Planning, Cooperation and Public Relations Prof Waluyo Handoko, were indeed in Jakarta on Thursday (20/8) because they had official business at the National Civil Service Agency (BKN).
According to him, the presence of several Unsoed officials in Jakarta was related to previously scheduled official duties, while information regarding the parties examined by the KPK could not yet be confirmed by the university.
