Leaders' target in general election
Leaders' target in general election
From Suara Karya
A quarrel between group leaders gives cause for worry. There is a saying that "if an elephant fights another elephant, smaller animals get caught in between". This should guide them, because when they are at loggerheads, the little people will suffer.
The most recent quarrel is between Gus Dur and Adi Sasono. Moslem political observer Mahrus Irsam says the "open war" between Gus Dur and Adi Sasono is not unrelated to their respective interest in the 1997 general election and the 1998 People's Consultative Assembly.
Each group leader, either in a mass organization or in a political party, should have a number of main targets in the context of the above two agendas. The quality and product of the agendas will be the criteria for evaluation.
