The Central Board of the Indonesian Islamic Dawah Institute (DPP LDII) will hold its 10th National Congress (Munas X) on 7–9 April 2026 at the Grand Ballroom Minhajurrosyidin in Jakarta. This five-yearly agenda serves as a forum to determine new leadership and compile the organisation’s strategic work programmes moving forward.

In an official statement, the General Chairman of DPP LDII, KH Chriswanto Santoso, stated that Munas X is an important momentum to strengthen LDII’s role in addressing national and global challenges for the nation.

“Munas X is not merely an organisational agenda; it is also a strategic forum to formulate the direction of policies and work programmes for LDII ahead, including in facing various global dynamics that impact Indonesia,” he said.

According to KH Chriswanto, among the important issues to be addressed at Munas X is the development of the crisis in the Middle East region, which has broad implications for world stability. The crisis is seen to influence surges in energy prices, disruptions to global supply chains, and potential economic recessions in various countries.

“The crisis in the Middle East cannot be viewed merely as a regional issue. Its impacts are very broad, from energy crises to global economic pressures that could trigger recessions,” he explained.

He stated that if such conditions are not anticipated well, it is not impossible that they will lead to social crises, including rising unemployment rates, poverty, and potential social conflicts in various countries, including Indonesia.

“Therefore, the LDII Munas will also discuss various breakthroughs, solution proposals, and concrete contributions that the organisation can provide in maintaining community social resilience, strengthening national values, and encouraging the economic independence of the ummah,” he emphasised.

In addition to global issues, Munas X also emphasises the importance of synergy between LDII and the government and all elements of the nation in maintaining national stability, especially amid increasingly complex economic challenges.

To that end, DPP LDII invites high-ranking government officials to provide briefings, so that the DPP LDII leadership can promptly implement work programmes to support government programmes.

He mentioned that LDII is inviting many ministries, around 13 ministries, among those who have confirmed attendance are Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno, Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Abdul Mu’ti, and Minister of Culture Fadli Zon.

“With the Minister of Culture, we will sign an MoU on efforts to revive storytelling culture. With the Minister of Education, we will socialise the 7 Habits of Great Indonesian Children in all our schools,” he added.

KH Chriswanto hopes that through Munas X, LDII can produce solid leadership and adaptive work programmes, thereby able to provide concrete contributions to national development. “LDII is committed to continuing to be part of the solution in facing national and global challenges, for the realisation of a prosperous, harmonious, and competitive society,” he concluded.

Rulli Kuswahyudi, Chairman of DPP LDII and Chairman of the Munas X LDII Organising Committee, added that the event will be attended by 800 participants representing provincial to district/city level leadership, ulama, and leaders of pesantren under LDII’s auspices. “This event will also feature Gen Fest, or Generous Festival, which serves as a showcase for the independence of LDII’s young generation,” said Rulli.

Gen Fest will host 80 booths representing schools, pesantren, MSMEs, umrah and hajj travel, to culinary businesses. The event, managed by LDII’s young generation and LDII News Network (LINES), also serves as an educational platform with various talkshows on creative industry ventures. Gen Fest, as a supporting activity for Munas X LDII, will also include a Pencak Silat Arts Festival in collaboration with the National Pencak Silat Association (Persinas) ASAD. This is one effort to preserve national culture, strengthen bonds of silaturahmi, and build the character of the young generation.
