LCGC Popularity Declines, Market Share Remains at 11 Percent
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The low cost green car (LCGC) segment experienced considerable pressure in March 2026. The decline affected not only sales volume but also its contribution to the national automotive market. According to data from the Indonesian Automotive Industry Association (Gaikindo), LCGC sales were recorded at 6,725 units. At the same time, total national wholesales reached 61,271 units, or a 24.6 percent decrease compared to the previous month. On a monthly basis, the decline was also significant. In February, this segment recorded 11,412 units, resulting in a correction of around 4,687 units or 41 percent in March. In terms of models, the Toyota Calya was the best-seller with 2,067 units, followed by the Daihatsu Sigra with 1,769 units. The Honda Brio Satya variant came next with 1,400 units. Meanwhile, the Toyota Agya recorded 1,149 units, and the Daihatsu Ayla closed the list with 340 units.
