Lazismu Marks 24th Anniversary with 'Integration Strengthens Impact' Theme for ZISKA Ecosystem
The Muhammadiyah Zakat, Infaq, and Sadaqah Institution (Lazismu) officially commemorated its 24th anniversary on 4 July 2026. Since its establishment in 2002, Lazismu has continued to strengthen its commitment to community empowerment. This year, the theme ‘Integration Strengthens Impact’ was chosen as a strategic step to unify institutional movements for broader benefit. Chairman of the Central Board of Lazismu, Ahmad Imam Mujaddid Rais, asserted that internal integration within Lazismu is a manifestation of spiritual values to align the organisation. According to him, integration is a sunnatullah inspired by the concept of tawhid as the foundation of divine, creation, and human unity. ‘Integration links every hierarchy of Lazismu’s institution under one unified system,’ said Rais on Tuesday (7/7). He explained that this integration carries the principles of One System, One Movement, and One Goal. All activities, from collection, management, and distribution to the reporting of ZISKA (Zakat, Infaq, Sadaqah, and Other Religious Funds), are now connected under a single national policy direction. This step ensures that Lazismu at the central, regional, and local levels strengthen each other and do not operate in silos. In addition to internal strengthening, synergy is also expanded through collaboration with internal Muhammadiyah partners (MLO) as well as external parties such as the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Baznas, and various NGOs. Lazismu’s Managing Director, Barry Adhitya, added that this policy direction is a mandate from the Lazismu 2025-2030 Strategic Plan. Entering its third windu, the institution’s main focus is on strengthening governance, designing sustainable programmes, and enhancing the professionalism of its Amil. ‘Integration of thought, planning, and action across Lazismu Indonesia, supported by technology, will strengthen the impact of ZISKA for the community and deliver the best services,’ Barry concluded. The 24th anniversary is expected to serve as a turning point for Lazismu to continue delivering social justice and welfare for the ummah, both nationally and internationally, with the full support of all levels of society.
