The Muhammadiyah Central Zakat, Infaq, and Sedekah Institution (Lazismu) has officially distributed funds to Councils, Institutions, and Autonomous Bodies within the Muhammadiyah Central Leadership. The fund transfer took place during the Ramadan 1447 H Study Series held at Muhammadiyah University of Tangerang (UMT) on Wednesday 25 February.

Ahmad Imam Mujadid Rais, Chairman of the Lazismu Central Board of Trustees, stated that the fund distribution represents Lazismu’s tangible support for strengthening associational programmes. “The funds distributed total Rp17,076,983,042 for councils, institutions, and autonomous bodies, with varying amounts based on each institution’s programmes,” Ahmad Imam Mujadid Rais explained.

Before distribution, all funds underwent rigorous screening and assessment processes by Lazismu’s Board of Directors and Trustees. This process ensured that fund allocation and utilisation were in line with zakat recipient categories (asnaf) and complied with Islamic sharia provisions.

Rais further emphasised his expectations regarding fund distribution. He hopes the fund distribution will not only facilitate each institution’s programmes but also strengthen the broader Islamic philanthropic ecosystem within the Muhammadiyah Association.

The handover ceremony was attended directly by representatives from the 22 recipient councils, institutions, and autonomous bodies. With these funds now distributed, Lazismu remains committed to serving as a professional, transparent, and accountable bridge for public good and national welfare.
