Layoff Task Force to Monitor Indonesian Companies' Health via New Dashboard

The government is strengthening efforts to anticipate waves of layoffs (PHK) through a Mitigation Task Force, which is preparing a dashboard system to monitor corporate conditions and economic dynamics more closely. Minister of Manpower Yassierli stated that the system is being developed under the coordination of the task force, led by the Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, to detect potential disruptions to business activities early. “We are developing an application for a dashboard to monitor the conditions of companies and the economy,” Yassierli said at the Parliament Complex in Jakarta on Monday (20/7/2026).

This new tool will complement the Ministry of Manpower’s existing Labor Analytics dashboard, which maps employment conditions across various Indonesian regions. Yassierli explained that the task force has already received information on several companies showing signs of pressure, though most cases are still at the indication stage and require further verification. “Some are beginning to show they could be impacted. As I mentioned, for several companies, there are only indications so far. Then, there are companies where there is news that we need to verify,” he said.

The government acknowledges that a one-size-fits-all approach cannot be applied, as each company faces different circumstances. Some are merely at the indication stage, others have issues that can still be resolved through mediation, and some have already carried out layoffs for various reasons. Yassierli emphasized that the task force’s role is to use the information gathered to determine the appropriate handling steps based on the specific condition of each company, aiming to implement mitigation measures before layoffs occur on a wider scale.
