Lawyers: Roy Suryo and Dr Tifa Arrested
Lawyers have stated that Roy Suryo and Dr Tifa have been arrested by Polda Metro Jaya. The arrests relate to the case concerning allegations of a fake diploma belonging to the 7th President, Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
“Today, Friday 19 June 2026, at approximately 07.00, our client Roy Suryo Notodiprojo was reported by his wife to have been arrested by Polda Metro Jaya investigators. At the same time, we also received information that Tifauzia Tyassuma was also arrested,” Petrus Selestinus told reporters on Friday (19/6/2026).
Petrus stated that Roy was arrested this morning at 07.00 WIB. He admitted receiving the information from Roy’s wife. “Today, Friday 19 June 2026, at approximately 07.00, our client Roy Suryo Notodiprojo was reported by his wife to have been arrested by Polda Metro Jaya investigators,” he said.
Meanwhile, Dr Tifa’s lawyer, Azis Yanuar, said his client had already been taken to Polda Metro Jaya. “The information was conveyed directly by Dr Tifa. After being taken to Polda, Dr Tifa showed evidence that she was currently within the Polda Metro Jaya compound. Dr Tifa appeared to be in front of a laptop and stated that she was taking her doctoral exam at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia (FKUI) from a room at Polda Metro Jaya,” he said.
Polda Metro Jaya had previously stated that the case file for the fake diploma allegations against Jokowi, which implicates Roy Suryo and Tifauziah Tyassuma, or Dr Tifa, was complete, known as P21. Both are set to stand trial soon. “Alhamdulillah, the prosecutor has declared that the case file we sent to the DKI High Prosecutor’s Office no longer requires fulfilment of the deficiencies we previously addressed,” explained Polda Metro Jaya’s Director of General Criminal Investigation, Senior Commissioner Iman Imanuddin, to reporters at the Metro Jaya Police Headquarters on Tuesday (2/6). “Therefore, we are currently coordinating to transfer the accountability of the evidence and the suspects,” he continued.
In this case of the alleged fake diploma of Jokowi, Polda Metro Jaya has named a total of eight people as suspects. Polda Metro Jaya has issued a warrant to terminate the investigation (SP3) for three suspects. The three suspects whose investigation process has been halted are Eggi Sudjana, Damai Hari Lubis, and Rismon Sianipar. Meanwhile, the other five suspects have chosen to proceed with the case. There are two clusters of suspects in this case. The suspects in the first cluster are Kurnia Tri Royani, Rizal Fadilah, and Rustam Effendi. The second cluster includes suspects Roy Suryo and Tifauziah Tyassuma, or Dr Tifa.
